Community Connections 

 

Supper Clubs are a delightful avenue to meet people of the church. Groups of eight to twelve are assigned each year to meet in homes for food and fellowship. are groups of about a dozen who meet monthly in homes for food and fellowship. These groups, coordinated by Julianne Chester, Lynda Makin, change yearly.   The end of the year is celebrated with the Supper Club Gala which all parishioners are invited to.

 

Book Club - All readers welcome! The Book Club meets on the 2nd Sun-day at 5 pm to discuss a book chosen by the group. Good fellowship, lively conversation and inspirational topics are enjoyed by all.  The convener is Nancy Mazek.

Church/School Ministry, chaired by Joy Green, focuses on supporting and enhancing the relationship between the church and Holy Comforter School through staff appreciation, student gifts and community-building events.

Men's Cooking Crew prepares and serves breakfast between services on the first and third Sundays of each month, as well as meals for special events. The chairperson is Wayne Makin.

Hospitality members provide setup, decorations and food for celebrations, receptions and special events. They also set up Sunday morning refreshments.   This group is led by Joan Maddox. 

 

The Lunch Bunch — Led by Katie Simmons, meets for lunch at the Lively Café at St. John’s Episcopal Church on the 2nd Friday of each month at 12:15 pm for sharing support, inspiration, and fellowship with one another.

Coffee, Tea & Thee — Led by Kay Carraway, this ministry is a social gathering with coffee, tea and cookies held on the first Tuesday of each month from 1-3 pm.
