Music and Choirs
Music is at the heart of worship at Holy Comforter. It is both prayer and praise. Whether you like traditional hymns or vibrant contemporary music, we encourage you to come as you are, ready to open your hearts to God and to share the gift of music with others.
The choir season traditionally runs September through Pentecost, with weekly rehearsals on Wednesday evenings from 6:45 to 8:30 p.m. in the sanctuary and again on Sunday mornings at 9:15 am. The choir along with musical instruments provide music for every Sunday Worship service at 10:30 am as well as other special celebrations and services.
All members of the choir are volunteers. There are no auditions, and an ability to read music is not a requirement. Please join us! If you are interested, please contact our Music Director, John-Mark Schacht.
Whether it is piano, guitar, drums, cello, trumpet, or horn (or most anything else!), if you play an instrument and wish to join us, please contact John-Mark!
Do you like music, but you are more of a tech person? Would you be interested in learning and contributing time to work under the direction of our music tech extraordinaire, Fred Chester from sound to recording, to graphics, to video projection, if you are interested in this new volunteer opportunity, please contact our music director.
