A Letter to Our Next Rector

“And so, from the day we heard, we have not ceased to pray for you, asking that you may be filled with the knowledge of his will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding…” Col. 1:9

We are praying faithfully for you. We are a community in transition with a clear sense of mission and thriving ministries that seeks your inspiration to cast a new vision of God’s kingdom.

We are an aging but vital parish that needs your passion to assist us in attracting, embracing, and nurturing an intergenerational parish. We ask that you roll up your sleeves along-side us to serve the poor, the hurting, the lonely and the marginalized.

We don’t have all the answers, nor do we expect that of you, but we will journey with you in radical faith. We honor open minded debate with you and each other that fosters mutual respect.

We value vibrant worship that keeps us spiritually alive, and we want you to challenge our hearts, minds, and souls to hear and to wrestle with God’s word.

We celebrate racial and cultural diversity, and gather together – whether conservative or liberal, rich or poor, male or female, gay or straight, old or young – in order to praise God and receive new life in the Eucharist. We pray that you are compassionate as well to all persons whatever their life’s journey.

We are grateful stewards of God’s creation and our abundance; we trust you will manage our resources rightly.

We have done our homework—listened attentively to our members and completed assessment tools that we are confident will help guide us on our future path together. We look forward to welcoming you and your family into our loving community. Our prayers will continue during our mutual journey.
