The following ministries are vital support of our spiritual life:
Spiritual Journey Tony Sturges
This group meets on the 1st & 3rd Sundays of the month at 9:15 am. Members read a wide variety of books in our attempts to grow and mature as Christians. Book discussions & building spiritual friendships are emphasized.
Centering Prayer Libby Woodward
Offered every Sunday morning at 9:15 am. Members practice contemplative prayer, and form spiritual friendships.
Stephen Ministry Frank Handy
Invited by clergy, a Stephen Minister is a member of our congregation who is trained to listen, care, encourage, pray, and walk alongside you during difficult times.
Prayer Chain Jan Calvin
This ministry is responsible for responding to all parishioner prayer requests when such requests are submitted.
Cursillo-Ultreya Bill and Pat Reineking
A spiritual renewal weekend of worship, music, instruction, reflection, discussion, prayer, and fellowship.
Daughters of the King Katie Simmons
A religious order for women who are communicants, pledging to a life-long program of prayer, service, and evangelism. DOK meets the 2nd Thursday at 6 pm.
Brotherhood of Holy Comforter Chris Jester
This is a men’s service organization designed to deepen the faith of its members and the men of our parish. Spiritual outreach and development of its members is achieved through the pillars of prayer, study, and service.
St. Clare Guild Claire Walker
This ministry knits and/or crochets prayer shawls
that are blessed by our priest and given to people in the hospital or nursing home, or those who are in need of the warmth of our parish family. Meetings are held on the 4th Tuesday of each month at 11 am. You do not need to attend the meetings to participate.
Children & Families Ministry Julianne Chester
The Children & Families Ministry includes babies through preschool and kindergarten through fifth grade. The younger ones meet in the classroom and nursery on the main floor during the 10:30 am service while the school age children meet in the parish hall. The school age curriculum includes videos, discussions, activities, games and music with lesson plans created by our director. As the babies become toddlers and preschoolers we introduce them to bible stories, songs, and age appropriate activities. Anyone interested in helping with Sunday School or our younger set, please let us know. If you have a special skill or hobby that you’d like to share with the children, we’d love to make it happen!
Vacation Bible School Julianne Chester
A wonderful week-long program of Christian education and fun summer activities usually planned for the first week of June. Volunteers are always welcome.
Flower Guild Teresa Thomsen
This ministry is responsible for selecting, arranging and placing flowers on the altar for Sunday worship and other special services. Volunteers are scheduled on a rotating basis and training is provided.
Card Ministry Shirley Ellis
This ministry sends birthday greetings and anniversary blessings to members of the church family. Parishioners on the prayer list are sent get well and cards of encouragement. When appropriate, sympathy cards are sent to the church family. Volunteers are scheduled on a rotating basis.
Banner Committee Sandra Cartwright
This ministry is responsible for making banners for parishioners when they celebrate baptism and confirmation.
Grief Groups Linda Zurko & Frank Handy
Three separate groups meet monthly to love and journey with those suffering from a variety of losses through the various stages of grief. Meeting are held the 2nd Tuesday at 10 am, the 4th Thursday at 10 am, and the 1st Tuesday at 7 pm.
This ministry offers middle and high school youth (grades 6-12) dinner, Bible study, singing, games, crafts and mission planning every Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. Volunteers are needed!
