The Altar Guild cares for the altar, vestments, vessels, and altar linens of the parish. They prepare the sanctuary for services and clean up afterwards.
The Hospitality Committee prepares the church to host weddings, funerals, parties, and other special events.
Ushers welcome people to church, provide them with the information they need, and help them to feel comfortable. They also take up the collection plate.
Through our Finance ministries, volunteers help the Vestry, Clergy, and Financial Manager to establish budgets, track finances and raise funds for church operations and growth.
Banner Committee
Design and create banners for baptisms and confirmations at Holy Comforter. Members meet to discuss the projects, then each person takes home the materials needed to make a banner. The banners become treasured keepsakes for those who have received them over the years.
The Choir & Musicians provide musical leadership for congregational singing in the worship of the church. They also sing anthems or make other special musical offerings to beautify and enhance the experience of worship.
Lectors (or "Readers") read the lessons from the Bible during services and sometimes lead the prayers.
Youth Commission
Plan and coordinate activities for children, youth & families. Provide opportunities for fun, outreach, faith building and service.
